The South Burnett Junior Motorcycle Club is opening its doors on Sunday (March 25) for a special come’n’try motocross day.

The day, which is being run in conjunction with Motorcycling Queensland – will be an opportunity to try motorcycling in a safe and controlled environment.

South Burnett Junior Motorcycle Club offers competitors the chance to tackle jumps, whoops and berms at speed.

Riders will be able to come and try their skills at Edenvale Raceway, located on Edenvale South Road, Kingaroy (at the back of the airport) with sign-on from 8:00am and riding from 9:00am.

Motorcycling Queensland will cover the cost of licences for the day for riders aged under 16.

“The club is just asking for a discounted fee from any new seniors that come for the come and try day,” a club spokesman said.

“Seniors will be able to ride at members’ prices instead of non member prices so $25 will cover you to ride for the day.”

“Any participant heading to the come’n’try will be eligible to claim a free three-month Recreational Motorcycling Australia Licence, just for participating.

“This licence insures riders for participating in the sport, offering them more access to motorcycle venues, events and resources.

“The come’n’try licence is only available to those (people) who have never held any type of Motorcycling Australia licence previously.”

The event is being held in conjunction with the club’s normal ride day. There will also be a canteen available with some hamburgers, cold drinks and treats.

Bring your own bike, boots, helmet, gloves, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.
