The Kingaroy Lions Club will be holding their second annual Easter Egg Hunt in Kingaroy’s Memorial Park on Easter Saturday, March 31.
The idea was the brainchild of Sarah Potter, who suggested the club offer a fun activity for local families during the Easter break.
Sarah’s fellow Lions Club members agreed to give it a try, and were astonished when a crowd of about 300 parents and children came along to participate.
The day raised $1000 for Lions community projects, and gave a lot of happy children a unique Easter experience into the bargain.
This year’s event will follow a similar format, with two Easter Egg hunts at 9:30am and 11:00am.
The Easter Bunny will also be paying a visit at 10:00am.
There’ll be a coffee van on site for bleary-eyed parents who need caffeine, along with a Lions sausage sizzle and cold drinks.
Children can take part in craft activities for a $5 contribution towards materials, if they wish.
But fun games like three-legged races, egg and spoon, a sack race and egg tossing are all free.
