Taabinga State School’s long-serving Principal Susan Beatty will be leaving soon to take up a new position in Yeppoon.

On Tuesday morning, Ms Beatty sent an email to the school’s mailing list to advise she has been appointed Principal at Taranganba State School.

“Staff have been informed this morning of my appointment along with School Council Chair, Michelle Hansen and P & C Executive Neil Salmon, Jacq Campbell and Helen Burrows,” Ms Beatty said.

She said an expression of interest for an Acting School Principal for Term 2 opened on Tuesday and will close next week.

A full-time Principal is expected to be selected on merit by Term 3.

“I wish to thank the Taabinga community for their contribution to my leadership journey and capabilities,” Ms Beatty said.

“I am very sad to leave after a commitment of just over nine years and I know (I) am better for the wonderful opportunities the school, staff, students and community have offered me during my time here.”

Ms Beatty said the school and community would be informed on the decision about the Acting Principal’s appointment as soon as possible.

They would also have an opportunity to have input into the appointment of a Principal through the School Council.
