Denise Keelan with a pre-publication copy of her photobook, ‘Swickers Fire ‘

February 27, 2018

South Burnett freelance photographer Denise Keelan has put together a special publication to record the devastating Swickers fire in 2016, and the phoenix-like recovery on the site.

Denise was travelling to another photographic job when she spotted the smoke starting to rise from the building.

She actually made it to the site just before the firefighters …

Denise took many photos in Kingaroy that Sunday morning, and then decided to record the construction process through to January this year.

The result is a 100-page photo book which documents an important piece of South Burnett history.

There are photos taken from the ground, as well as drone photos taken during the demolition and construction.
