A Dalby man has won more than $3 million in Powerball.
As well as his Division 1 prize of $3 million, the man’s two-entry PowerHit entry also won Division 2 multiple times, bolstering his total prize to $3,230,892.75.
But the man’s winning entry was not registered to a Winners Circle card so Golden Casket officials had no way to deliver the good news.
He didn’t know he had won until he went into a newsagency to buy his next Powerball entry.
The man had only been playing the winning numbers on a PowerHit entry for the past six weeks.
A PowerHit entry guarantees the all-important Powerball number.
“I’ve always been lucky with Powerball over the years. I’ve won a few little things. I don’t play anything else but Powerball,” he told Golden Casket.
“I’ve been playing Powerball for the past 10 to 15 years. About six weeks ago the newsagent gave me a PowerHit QuickPick and I’ve kept using those numbers ever since.”
