The speed limit on the Bunya Highway near the Moffatdale turn-off has been reduced to 60km/h by the Department of Transport and Main Roads in the wake of the double fatality that occurred nearby in January.

A 27-year-old man and a seven-year-old boy died when a tri-axle trailer and a dual cab ute collided on January 2.

The Department has identified a potential road safety risk on the highway during heavy rain, although a spokesman said he could not confirm if this had contributed to January’s crash.
