Yarding numbers were down at the most recent cattle sale in Murgon, but values improved slightly on the previous fortnight

Just over 500 head were yarded at the most recent Fat and Store Sale in Murgon on Tuesday, 200 down on the previous fortnightly sale.

However, values improved slightly for what was a mixed yarding of cattle.

Beasts were drawn from both the North Burnett and South Burnett.

Sale results:

  • Bulls sold to $2.49/kg and $2300
  • Heavy Cows averaged $2.11/kg, selling to a top of $2.27/kg and $1390
  • Cows 400–500kg topped at $2.24/kg and $1070 for a $2.03 average
  • Lighter Cows under 400kg sold to $1.90/kg
  • Export Heifers topped at $1470 and $2.61/kg
  • Cows and Calves sold to $1200

The next Murgon sale is on Tuesday, February 27 at 8:00am.
