FLASHBACK: Kumbia QCWA members Gayle Szylejko, Julianne Cross, Judy Pickering and Mollie Kratzmann helping out at the 2016 Christmas Carnival … now the branch plans to help out cent auction fans, too

February 14, 2018

Kumbia will hold the South Burnett’s first cent auction of the year this Saturday, February 17.

The Kumbia QCWA originally planned to hold a cent auction in May, but decided to move it back three months to fill a void created by the festive season and summer school vacation.

“We know there are many people who really like cent auctions, and a lot of them are held around the region every year,” president Catherine Woodham said.

“But they begin to peter out towards December, and then there’s nothing for months.

“So we thought why not go a bit early and give people something they want?”

Saturday’s cent auction will be held at the QCWA Rooms in Bell Street, and will get underway at 10:00am.

In addition to a great range of items to bid on, there’ll also be a lucky door prize, a raffle and a great morning tea.

Admission is just $10, but to help plan the catering an email RSVP by Wednesday, February 14 would be appreciated.
