January 28, 2018

A driver had a lucky escape on Sunday afternoon when his vehicle left the highway north of Memerambi, spun over and came to rest upside down in a ditch.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the site of the incident between Gordonbrook and Webbs roads at 4:30pm.

They found a vehicle upended in a ditch beside the Bunya Highway.

The vehicle had been towing a trailer carrying a golf buggy and other golfing items.

Police said the male driver was not hurt but was taken to Kingaroy Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

The Bunya Highway was closed for a short time at about 5:30pm to allow the vehicle to be winched out of the ditch on to a tow truck.

Police investigations into the cause of the accident are continuing.

The mangled golf buggy and trailer are winched on to a tow-truck to be hauled away

  1. Another accident on Jones’s Corner. How much carnage is required before action is taken? The shape and camber of the corner is all wrong, and it is dangerous.
