Kingaroy junior cricketer Jaden Heness has been selected in the Matthew Hayden XI to take on the Martin Love XI in a mini-competition next month.
The Under 16 sides will play two Twenty20 matches in Maryborough on February 11 plus a 50-over game in Bundaberg on February 18.
Players from the southern half of the Wide Bay cricketing area were eligible for selection for the Matthew Hayden XI, while players from the northern section were picked for the Martin Love XI.
Hayden (from Kingaroy) and Love (from Mundubbera) are both former Australian Test cricketers.
Jaden has played rep cricket for Wide Bay in the past and has captained South Burnett junior teams.
The rest of the Matthew Hayden XI is made up of players from Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Gympie.
