Work has been completed on a new Optus phone tower which has been erected at the rear of the Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy.

The “Kingaroy Central” tower was announced in October as part of a multi-million dollar investment by Optus in 13 new mobile sites across central and western Queensland.

Other new Optus sites include similar towers in Yarraman and Maidenwell.

“These new sites will improve call quality and offer faster internet streaming via Optus’ 4G plus network,” a company spokesman said.

“This is great news for local customers and businesses looking for even better Optus network coverage across the South Burnett region.”

The three new towers are part of a $6 million commitment by Optus for new mobile towers across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.
