A GoFundMe page has been set up to help a South Nanango couple who lost everything in a house fire on Monday afternoon.

The timber home in Hamilton Road was well alight when firemen arrived and was gutted in the blaze.

Daughter Pia Strange, from Barkers Creek Flat, has set up the GoFundMe page to help her parents, Jeff and Debby Strange.

The couple moved into their home in 2005.

“My Dad has spent years doing up his little piece of paradise that he was so proud to call his own,” Pia wrote.

“My mum had spent countless days baking away in her small yet lovable kitchen, her happy place where she made the most delicious cakes.

“This is such a devastating time for the both of them.

“I am not one to normally asked for anything, but today I am asking if you can spare anything at all so we can help my parents get back up from the ground.

“The most heartbreaking of all is, unfortunately they have no insurance due to financial hardship in these last few years.

“They were slowly starting to get on top of things with Dad finally catching a break and finding some work three months ago. They have a very long and sad road ahead of them.”

By Thursday afternoon, Pia had raised $4210.
