Taroom grazier and businessman Colin Boyce will be the LNP’s candidate for Callide at the next State Election.

This follows the announcement by current MP Jeff Seeney earlier this year that he would not be recontesting the seat.

Mr Boyce has lived in the Taroom District most of his life and is a former Taroom Shire councillor.

Politics must run in the family: his wife, Terri, is a current Banana Shire councillor.

The couple have two adult sons and a daughter and own a cattle property outside Taroom.

As well, Mr Boyce and his two sons – all qualified boilermakers – run an engineering business which repairs farm and earth-moving machinery.

“Like many locals, being part of the community is very important to my family,” Mr Boyce said.

“I’ve been an active member of our local rural fire brigades for 20 years.

“Whether it’s floods, fires or drought – I’m always happy to help to get our community back on its feet.”
