The South Burnett Saints and Goondiwindi Hawks put on a show for Saints’ fans in Kingaroy

South Burnett Saints consolidated their Top 2 position on the AFL Darling Downs ladder on Saturday with a convincing win over the Goondiwindi Hawks.

It was sweet revenge for the South Burnett team after the Hawks broke the Saints’ winning streak with a 68 point victory at Goondiwindi in Round 10.

This time around, the Saints put their stamp on the game early in front of their home crowd at Kingaroy.

South Burnett enjoyed a strong second quarter, going into the half-time break ahead 10.15 (75) to 3.6 (24).

They maintained this margin for the rest of the game.

The final score was 16.22 (118) to 7.9 (51).

Saints’ goals were kicked by Joseph Amery (4), Braeden Snow (2), Taylor Herrmann (2), Brad Edwards, Paul Judge, Keegan Wright, Kieran Askin, Adam Bowater, Mitchell Francis, Ben Pressnell and Kerron Weber.

This weekend, both the Saints men’s and women’s teams will be taking on South Toowoomba at Heritage Oval in Toowoomba.
