Steve Clampit presents the Kurt Hubbers Award to Sarah Potter

Kingaroy resident Sarah Potter was was presented with the Kurt Hubbers Award at the recent Kingaroy Lions Club changeover dinner held at the Commercial Hotel.

Sarah was the club’s entry in the Lions Miss Personality Quest and raised $3600 for charity.

She organised a very successful Easter Egg hunt in Memorial Park as well as a movie night and other activities.

The Kurt Hubbers Award is given by the outgoing Kingaroy Lions Club president to a worthy person.

It honours Kurt Hubbers, a German migrant who personified Lions and introduced many people to Kingaroy Lions and Leo clubs.

The meeting thanked outgoing president Steve Clampit for his efforts over the past 12 months, and welcomed in new president Norm Jackson.

Vicki and Russell Trimmer were also recognised for their work for Kingaroy Lions
