“Mr Q” (Gavin and Tony Cisneros) performing at last year’s Avocado Festival … this year, organisers are looking for buskers and street performers to create a lively village atmosphere on Festival day

July 24, 2017

The Blackbutt Avocado Festival is looking for buskers and other performing artists to entertain the crowds at this year’s event.

“We want to animate Blackbutt’s streets with sight, sound and spectacle and entertainers from all genres,” Avocado Festival chairman Jeff Connor said

“If you’re a musician, a living statue, a performance artist, a poet, or just think you’ve got what it takes to entertain the public, we would love to hear from you.”

Mr Connor said an appearance at this year’s Avocado Festival would be an opportunity for an emerging artist to perform in front of an audience of more than 5000 people.

There will be a number of allocated footpath and festival trail spots for performers.

“This is straight-up busking on the street – no PAs, and artists are encouraged to put out tip jars or hats, or sell CDs” he said.

The Blackbutt Avocado Festival will be held on Saturday, September 9.

For more information about how to become a busker or street performer at the festival, phone Jeff on 0448-946-702 or send him an email.
