Kumbia Memorial Hall was packed with evil-doers and do-gooders for last year’s “Heroes & Villains” theme … this year “The Old West” gets its turn

If you feel it’s time to get your cowboy on, the Kumbia Brain Drain Trivia Night is probably the best place to do it.

The popular annual event will be held at Kumbia Hall from 6:30pm on Saturday night, August 5.

This year’s theme is “The Old West”, and guests are encouraged to dress up in their best cowboy attire to be in the running for some great prizes.

Brain Drain organising committee member Beck Cross said tables were selling fast, but there is still room to lasso one for people who act fast.

“We only have a handful of tables left,” Beck said.

“They’re $120 for a team of six, and it’s always a great night out”.

Funds raised from the event are used by the Kumbia State School P&C to support initiatives at the school.

Previous projects funded by the Brain Drain have included air-conditioning classrooms, supplementing school camps, purchasing educational technology and installing play equipment.

“We would also like to acknowledge our many sponsors who donate cash and the prizes we raffle on the night”, Ms Cross said.

“This year we have had overwhelming support from both local and national organisations”.

“We are really grateful for that”.
