AGL representative Clare Wilkes will be coming to Kumbia next Monday (July 17) to explain to local residents what community grants the company is likely to have available in conjunction with the Coopers Gap Wind Farm.

Construction of the project is expected to start in the second half of this year after AGL received planning approval from the State Government in May.

The visit by Ms Wilkes, who is the Senior Manager (Government & Community Relations) at AGL Energy Limited, has been organised by Cr Ros Heit.

“I see this as a great opportunity for Kumbia to work together to get the best outcomes for the town from the AGL funding,” Cr Heit said.

“When I went to Victoria to see wind farms it was obvious the amount of money invested in the local towns from AGL and I’m keen that this is managed to best benefit Kumbia.”

The meeting will be held at 5:30pm, but the venue is to be advised.

Cr Heit has asked Kumbia residents to RSVP their interest in the meeting to her by email
