Celebrating at the end of the last show … front row, from left, Michaela Taylor, Kayla Dascombe and Cherry and Minnie Martoo; back row, Belle Wicks and Tia Sauer

June 22, 2017

Once upon a time about 50 students dazzled parents and friends in Kingaroy with musical renditions of the traditional fairytale of Beauty and the Beast.

St Mary’s Catholic College Year 4 to Year 10 students presented three performances of the romantic story of the young woman who falls in love with a hideous beast, only to discover he is actually a handsome prince who has been trapped by a spell.

And they both lived happily ever after …

As well as performances for parents on Friday and Saturday nights in the Mary Knoll Centre at the school, the students also put on a special matinee performance on Friday.

This was for other students, local kindy and daycare centre children, and residents from Orana Lutheran Complex.

A special guest from Orana was Lady Bjelke-Petersen who had a front-row seat for the performance.

St Mary’s students’ next musical extravaganza will be the school’s Rock On Stage presentation at the Mary Knoll Centre on July 21.
