Speedway fun shouldn’t just be for the boys … the Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club Inc will be giving girls a chance to give it a go on Saturday.

The club is offering girls the opportunity to try motorcycling speedway in a safe and controlled environment at the Kingaroy Showgrounds for free.

The riders will be guided by an experienced team of officials and volunteers.

Participants coming to the “girls only” Come’n’Try day will be issued a one-day free licence to ride for the morning.

“This Come’n’Try day is designed for any girl aged 4–16,” club secretary Tracey Tunstall said.

“This is a great chance for the girls to ride without having any boys to get in the way and the opportunity to try the sport in a safe environment, surrounded by licenced and trained officials.”

Riders must register at 8:15am at the club track with riding from 9:00am–11:30am.

Girls must bring their own bike, boots, helmet, gloves, goggles, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

The club also has two 50cc Peewee bikes and some gear along with a 125cc slider bike available.
