FLASHBACK: South Burnett artists Faye Cook and Jan Sody created “From The Radium Diaries” while they were undergoing breast cancer treatment

May 4, 2017

The two South Burnett artists behind last year’s quirky “From The Radium Diaries” exhibition at Wondai Art Gallery are now hoping to share their skills with other women who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Faye Cook and Jan Sody created the artworks in their exhibition while they were undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Art helped the pair “work things out” during a most confronting part of their lives.

On Saturday, May 13, they hope to share that with other women who have experienced cancer.

The pair will be holding an art session at the CWA Hall in Kingaroy Street for women who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Fay and Jan ran their first art session last year, which they say was great fun.

“You don’t need to be an artist to attend,” Jan said.

“It is designed for everyone to be able to enjoy some creativity.

“This is open to all women who have had a diagnosis of cancer, no matter how far down the track they are.”

The art session is free, but registrations are essential.
