A woman aged in her 40s has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after a fall from a horse while competing at the Manumbar Campdraft on Saturday.

The Queensland Ambulance Service took the woman to Kingaroy Hospital, where she was further assessed.

She was then airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter in a serious but stable condition.

It is believed she suffered chest injuries, including a punctured lung.
