Thanks to ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie, Football South Burnett’s “Super Saturday” Round 2 games were all postponed, meaning players have been waiting to get back on the pitch since Round 1, on March 25.

The football drought was partially relieved on Thursday night when one of the 1st Division catch-up games was played in Kingaroy.

Wests faced five-time premiers Nanango, who had little trouble downing the home team.

However, Wests were first to score and then kept out Nanango for the next 10 minutes before the Panthers’ onslaught began.

The final score was Nanango 8, Wests 3.

Nanango goals were scored by Sam Graley (3), Kieran Mangan (2), Ike Silat, and Dimas Bakini (2).

Wests’ goals were scored by Gary Favier, Andy Knight and Rei Nozaki.
