Women in agriculture – or “WAgS”- in the South Burnett have been invited to attend a special, free day organised for them next week.
The event – put on by the Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG), the National Landcare Program, and the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) – will be held at Mondure Hall on Saturday, April 29.
There will be guest speakers “to inspire and inform” as well as a free morning tea and lunch prepared by members of the QCWA’s Country Kitchens Kingaroy Branch.
There will be time to network and socialise with other guests; various trade stands with an agricultural theme will also be in attendance.
The day will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, with hot coffee to kick-start the day available from 8:30am.
A BIEDO spokesperson said the event would be “kid friendly” with staff from Like Home Early Learning Centre at Murgon present to keep youngsters entertained.
Guest speakers will include:
- Fleur Anderson, Rural Business Collective
- Alison Abbott, Workplace Health & Safety QLD
- Ann McKenzie, BMRG – Soil Health
- Romaine Undery, Ramesa Nursery
- Bob and Kerry Baldwin, Murgon Local Ambulance Committee
- Carolyn Stone, AgForce SEQ
No RSVPs are necessary.
Footnote: The day will also be repeated on Saturday, June 10, at Kilkivan Town Hall.
