The SBMCS production of Jesus Christ Superstar will run from March 23-26

March 18, 2017

The countdown has begun for the opening night of the South Burnett Musical Comedy’s Society’s first big production for 2017 … the sensational 1970s rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.

The SBMCS cast members have been practising for months for the production.

The music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice.

These are superstars in their own right, with at least one of the songs from the score climbing the music charts at the time.

The production is timely as the story follows the last week of Christ’s life through to the Passion and Crucifixion.

The SBMCS crew will be working across this weekend to get the Kingaroy Town Hall ready for opening night.

The final dress rehearsal will be held on Monday.

There are just four performances:

  • Thursday, March 23 – 7:00pm
  • Friday, March 24 – 7:00pm
  • Saturday, March 25 – 7:00pm
  • Sunday, March 26 – 2:00pm matinee

Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance.

Tickets are available at Murgon News, Wondai News, Proston News, and Robinson’s News in Kingaroy Shoppingworld.

They can also be bought online
