Kingaroy-based Wards Electrical has been awarded a State Government contract to perform maintenance at four local schools.

Public Works Minister Mick de Brenni said Wards would complete works at Wooroolin, Crawford, Tingoora and Durong South State Schools.

“It’s great to see a local company taking the lead on this project. It makes sense that maintenance work on local schools should be done by local businesses where possible,” Mr de Brenni said.

“Wards Electrical will carry out important maintenance works including replacing louvres, downpipes and tapware, replacing a basketball hoop and cleaning gutters.

“It’s estimated that this contract will support up to seven workers from a range of trades including an arborist, plumber, carpenter and electrician.”
