Volunteer firefighters working to protect property in the South Burnett area

Property owners in the South Burnett have been invited to attend a free fire management workshop to be held at the Rural Fire Service Area Office in Kingaroy next month.

The workshop will show attendees how to create an Individual Property Fire Management Plan.

Representatives from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, SEQ Fire and Biodiversity Consortium and the South Burnett Regional Council will be available to explain more about creating a plan, as well as balancing fire safety with conservation of bushland, plants and animals.

People taking part will receive property maps. a property fire planning kit, tools to create the plan and personalised property fire management advice.

Morning tea and lunch will also be provided.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 22, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Rural Fire Service Area Office (behind Subway) at 101 Youngman Street, Kingaroy.
