An elderly woman was flown to hospital for assessment after a single-vehicle crash on the Burnett Highway near Booubyjan on Thursday afternoon.

A man and a woman from Bundaberg were in a campervan which left the road and crashed into a tree about 4:00pm.

Neither is believed to have suffered serious injuries, although the woman – aged in her 80s – was treated for shock.

The incident occurred just north of the Lawless Park campground.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was despatched to the scene about 5:00pm.

The woman was transported to Nambour General Hospital.
