South Burnett parents have been urged to not miss out on the next round of “Get Started” vouchers to help young people join a sporting club.

South Burnett Regional Council Sports portfolio holder Cr Roz Frohloff said residents should apply as soon as the round opens, as the vouchers are always snapped up quickly.

Applications open on January 25 and close on March 29, or earlier if fully allocated.

Vouchers, valued up to $150, can be redeemed at any sport or recreation club that is registered for “Get Started” vouchers.

Eligible applicants are children and young people aged from 5 to 17 who either hold – or whose parents, carer or guardian hold – a valid Centrelink health care card or pensioner concession card with the child’s name on it, or are identified by a registered referral agent.

The funding will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
