The Kingaroy-based Melanoma Awareness Foundation will be able to spread its message a bit further thanks to the recent touch football carnival organised by Bean Growers Australia.

The all-day event, held at T.J. O’Neill Oval, had eight teams competing for the honour of winning the inaugural Workplace Warriors Funday trophy and $1000 to give to their charity of choice.

Fiedler Brothers Plumbing, captained by Todd Fiedler, proved unstoppable on the day, downing The Dominators (Domino’s Pizzas) in the Grand Final.

Peter Carstairs, from Bean Growers Australia, presented Todd with the winner’s cheque on Friday.

In turn, Todd presented the $1000 to a very grateful Melanoma Awareness Foundation CEO Brett Ott, who said the money would allow the Foundation to continue its awareness work in local schools.
