The latest ringtail possum found hanging from a pole in Kingaroy (Photo: Contributed)

A Kingaroy resident who successfully lobbied Ergon Energy in February to fix a power pole that had electrocuted three ringtail possums, now has another pole in his sights.

In February, the resident complained about a pole in Moonya Street, up the hill from Macdiarmid Street.

He urged Ergon to better insulate some of the wires on the pole to stop the deaths.

This work was carried out in March.

The latest possums to be fried met their maker at a pole on the corner of Reservoir and McLaughlin streets in Kingaroy.

The resident supplied photos of a dead possum in the gutter under the pole while another still hangs above.

“It’s bit rare to get two hung up in the exact same location,” the resident said.

“Maybe replacing a section of street light main with insulated conductor would resolve the possum trap.”
