Ergon Energy Retail customers have given the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Queensland 10 million reasons to celebrate with a major milestone reached last week.

Executive General Manager Roslyn Baker said the goal to attract $10 million in donations had been reached thanks to the generous support of customers over the past 15 years.

“This is truly a time to celebrate,” Ms Baker said. “I am honoured that Ergon Energy Retail employees have played a part in this fantastic achievement.”

“I really need to thank our customers, though – the 127,415 regional Queenslanders – who have committed to supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service since Ergon Energy Retail entered into this partnership in 2000.”

“We set the goal not knowing how long it would take, but we reached $8 million last year and it was clear then that the magic $10 million mark was well within reach.”

RFDS CEO Mr Nino di Marco said the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) greatly appreciated its strong and longstanding partnership with Ergon Energy Retail over the last fifteen years.

“The RFDS has a long tradition of providing quality health care and aeromedical services to rural and remote communities, and thanks to the generosity of Ergon Energy Retail’s customers, we have reached this significant $10 million milestone,” Mr Di Marco said.
