Work to upgrade the intersection of Ellesmere Road, Stuart Valley Drive and Old Taabinga Road at Haly Creek will begin on Monday (July 20).
A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said the project would include realignment and reconstruction of the intersection and approaches.
Construction work will include clearing, drainage, widening of gravel pavements, bitumen sealing, line marking and signage.
It is expected this work will take approximately 10 weeks, weather permitting.
During construction, traffic through the site will be managed by traffic controllers or traffic lights with minor delays anticipated.
Local residents who have any queries regarding access during the construction period, have been asked to contact the onsite supervisor.
Speed limits will be reduced through the roadworks area.
