Ergon Energy has raised more than $1.1 million for the Royal Flying Doctor Service from customer and employee donations over the past 12 months … taking their total to almost $9.5 million.
“The generosity of our customers combined with the passion of our employees for the RFDS has seen more than 125,000 donors contribute to the voluntary donation scheme since the start of our partnership,” Executive General Manager Roslyn Baker said.
“I am honoured to be celebrating 15 years of partnership between Ergon Energy Retail and RFDS this year and it will be made even more special when we reach our target of $10 million by the end of this calendar year.”
RFDS (Queensland Section) CEO Nino Di Marco praised Ergon Energy Retail on nearing their $10 million target.
“Ergon’s continued support of the RFDS allows us to focus on providing the finest care to those living in rural and remote Queensland,” Mr Di Marco said.
“The $1.1 million raised this year alone is the cost of fitting out one of our intensive care aircraft and is a significant contribution to our overall operational costs in Queensland,” he said.
Ergon customers are able to donate $2 or $5 on their quarterly electricity bills or make a one-off RFDS donation through the RFDS website
