There’s lots to explore and enjoy in Nanango, which a Brisbane TV crew discovered for themselves on Monday.
The crew from TPD Media, filming for “Queensland Weekender” on Channel 7, were given a warm welcome to town by local residents.
Their first stop was Shortiez CFC in Henry Street, which had been nominated by local resident Tony Hurry as his favourite spot.
They then visited the Nanango Visitor Information Centre and South Burnett Energy Centre, where local resident Jane Erkens showed them the two engines that once supplied power to the Nanango Butter Factory.
Jane then showed them her favourite spot, “The Shed”, where a group of local musicians gathers regularly to jam and have fun.
The film crew, who were accompanied by well-known presenter Liz Cantor, then dropped into historic Ringsfield House to check out the gardens, museum displays and enjoy some lunch on the verandah.
Then it was off to Twin Gums Caravan Park where Jane had organised for some of “The Shed” musicians to provide some live entertainment.
Footnote. No date has been set yet for the program to be broadcast.
