Flashback: Marian Mudra, Olive Lloyd, Joy Coulson, Gaye Webster, Lois Thurecht and (front row) Charlene, Kym and Brooke Lavaring at a meeting which led to the formation of the new QCWA Twilight Branch in Kingaroy in February 2013

June 9, 2015

A public meeting will be held at the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 13, to look into the possibility of re-forming the dormant Wooroolin branch.

The meeting will also determine if there’s sufficient interest to form a Young Leaders branch for young women aged 10-25.

The move follows the successful creation of a QCWA Twilight Branch in Kingaroy in February 2013 and the creation of a Blackbutt-Yarraman branch in April last year to replace the long-dormant Yarraman and Blackbutt branches.

If you’d like to know more about the proposed Wooroolin branch, phone Mellissa on (07) 4164-1249 or Mollie on (07) 4164-4191.

Meanwhile, the Kumbia QCWA branch will be holding an afternoon tea for potential new members at their rooms in Bell Street, Kumbia at 2:30pm on Saturday, June 20.

The branch needs new members because of the increasing age and declining health of its current membership.

It’s willing to consider altering meeting times or days if the branch’s current schedule prevents more local women joining.

If you’d like to know more about the Kumbia branch, phone Marian on (07) 4164-5578 or Mollie on (07) 4164-4191.
