It’s not too late to take part in the “Ride The South Burnett” community cycling event in Kingaroy on Sunday (June 22).

Although bookings have closed on the Cycle Queensland website, entries will still be accepted on the day.

The community rides, presented by the South Burnett Regional Council, will be run on three courses before the Tour de Kingaroy on Sunday.

As well as raising money for a good cause, there’s also spot prizes to be won!

All local pushbike riders have been invited to take part.

Riders have the choice of three distances:

Riders will have the choice of three courses in the Kingaroy Community Ride; Course 1 & Course 2 are depicted above; Course 3 extends over 29.3km  (see details below)

Course 3 (29.2km including dirt section)

  • Start – Somerset St Youth Park
  • Head south and left into Harris Rd
  • Left into Redmans Rd
  • Right into Kingaroy-Barkers Cr Rd
  • Left into North Branch Rd
  • Left into Booie-Crawford Rd
  • Left into Haydens Rd
  • Right into Schellbacks Rd
  • Right into Kingaroy-Barkers Cr Rd
  • Left into Fisher St
  • Right into Alford St
  • Left into Somerset St

Entry Fees

Adults
6km – $12 (individual), $40 (team)
12km – $18 (individual), $55 (team)
29km – $27 (individual), $88 (team)
Students (U16)
6km – $7 (individual), $20 (team)
12km – $14 (individual), $48 (team)
29km – $20 (individual), $65 (team)

Funds raised will go to the Mayor’s Community Trust to assist local charities.

“Council are proud to be a sponsor of this event, which was a huge success last year, bringing tourists and national media to the region,” Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.

The community rides are a part of a weekend of cycling with the Tour de Kumbia and the Tour de Kingaroy as Round 3 of the 2014 Queensland Road Teams Series being held this weekend 21 and 22 June 2014.
