Yarraman and Cooyar residents have been encouraged to have their say on Toowoomba Regional Council’s strategic direction and community plans for the region.
From now until Saturday, May 31, members of the public can view and provide feedback on Council’s draft Corporate Plan 2014-2019 and the draft mid-term review of the updated Toowoomba Regional Community Plan.
Copies of the draft plans and feedback forms are available on Council’s website and at libraries and Council customer service centres during standard business hours.
Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio said the plans provided a clear direction for the region, particularly in light of the anticipated infrastructure boom and population and industry growth.
“We are predicting that these emerging challenges will put pressure on Council’s existing services,” Cr Antonio said.
“Preserving the livability of the region is a key priority for Council and we have set about to reflect this in each of these plans.
“Review and feedback from the community is integral in ensuring these plans reflect their aspirations and desired outcomes for the region.”
Published in 2010, the initial Toowoomba Regional Community Plan describes the overall vision for the region’s long-term future.
The Corporate Plan 2014-2019 sets out Council’s strategic direction for the next five years and provides a framework to guide decision making, allocation of resources and the actions of Councillors and staff.
