Thieves last week targeted the Yarraman Post Office and the attached Council Library.

Officer-in-charge of Yarraman Police, Sgt Paul McDonnell said it appeared the offenders had used an implement of some kind, possibly a screwdriver, to gain entry.

The break-in occurred sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

A small amount of photocopying money was taken.

The thieves also broke into the Timbertowns Art And Craft Cafe but nothing was stolen.

Sgt McDonnell said it appeared they were only after money and no cash is kept on the premises.

In an unrelated matter, some louvres were removed from windows at the Yarraman Bowls Club. Sgt McDonnell said it did not appear anyone had gained entry to the building.

Investigations are continuing.

Sgt McDonnell said anyone with information about any of the break-ins should contact Yarraman police on (07) 4163-8211 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.
