A bat – or rather an ex-bat – has been blamed for a blackout last night which left about 1700 Ergon Energy customers in Kingaroy without power.
An Ergon spokesman said the bat managed to knock a couple of powerlines together in Murray Parade about 9:04pm.
Ergon crews removed the bat and the power was restored at 9:37pm.
The power outage affected homes and businesses on the northern side of Kingaroy and some adjoining areas.
No damage was done to any parts of Ergon’s network.
