The sixth annual Reef’n’Beef Extravaganza turned on a feast of plenty for the 280 or so hungry revellers who trekked from all over the South Burnett to Ironpot Hall on Saturday night.
They dined on pan-fried reef fish, prawns, bugs, oysters, rib fillet steak and rib roast … not to mention dessert!
Large marquees were erected out the front of the hall in case of rain (which no one would have minded at all, but unfortunately didn’t happen).
The organisers of Reef’n’Beef are Team Ironpot, a not-for-profit association that was formed by a group of friends after the tragic death of a mate, Dave Schmidt, 37, in a motorcycle accident during the 2008 Finke Desert Race near Alice Springs.
Team Ironpot aims to “create, supply and deliver” enjoyable events, with funds raised used to help local associations in the Ironpot area.
