A Nanango man will face trial in the District Court on a date to be fixed on a charge of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Jade Hugh Cherry, who appeared via videolink in Kingaroy Magistrates Court today, consented to a hand-up of evidence.

He indicated he would plead guilty to a second charge, of attempting to pervert the course of justice, and was remanded on this count for sentencing.

A tape of a telephone call that Cherry made from jail where he allegedly attempted to intimidate a witness was tendered to the court as evidence.

No application was made for bail.

A 54-year-old Wattle Camp woman has been committed to appear in the District Court on a charge of attempted murder.

Kay Te Atarangi Lyons appeared via videolink in Kingaroy Magistrates Court this afternoon.

The charge involves an alleged attack on her husband, David Lyons.

She was remanded in custody to reappear on a date to be fixed.

Police have offered no evidence on charges against a man being held in custody, meaning he can now walk free from jail.

Michael Albert Cresswell had been facing charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, and entering a dwelling at night threatening violence.

Police Prosecutor Sgt Wayne Bushell said no evidence would be offered on any of the charges.

Magistrate Mark Bucknall said Woodford Correctional Centre would be informed the charges had been discontinued.

A driver has been committed to face trial on a charge of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

Darrell Glenn Walk appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court today on a charge laid following a head-on smash on the Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road on July 14.

He consented to a hand-up of evidence and will appear in the District Court in Kingaroy on a date to be fixed.

Bail was not opposed by police.

A man facing five historic child abuse charges appeared in custody by videolink in Kingaroy Magistrates Court today.

The man, who was extradited from Tasmania to face the charges, was remanded to re-appear for a witness hearing on January 15, 2014.

Mitchell Keith McConnell was committed to face trial in the District Court after a hand-up of evidence in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court today.

McConnell is facing one charge of armed robbery with actual violence after an alleged incident at Coverty on August 28.
