Remember the Reading Bug?? The mysterious insect was hatched from a rare Reading Bug Egg at Nanango Showgrounds in February after months of careful care by local schoolchildren.
Well it seems the Reading Bug has laid an egg. That can be the only explanation for the discovery on Friday of another mysterious egg, this time in Yarraman.
Jacob Wilson and Yarraman Sawmill manager Steve Wyvill got the shock of their lives when they found the egg while cleaning a bark pile.
Witnesses have come forward who saw the Nanango Reading Bug flying about the sawmill about a week before the egg was found.
Mill manager Steve Wyvill immediately contacted the appropriate authorities.
On their arrival it was confirmed the new egg is indeed is another Reading Bug Egg.
It has now been moved to a safe location.
Representatives from Stanwell, who are now practised in the care of Reading Bug Eggs, will be delivering the egg to Yarraman State School on Thursday for Under 8s day.
