Two blackouts affected Ergon Energy customers in parts of Kingaroy and the surrounding district last night.
Initially, damage to Ergon equipment in Tessmans Road led to homes located on the Wooroolin feeder – in parts of northern Kingaroy, Crawford, Memerambi, Wooroolin, Cushnie, Tingoora and west to Wattle Camp – suffering brownouts from about 3:30pm.
An attempt was made to temporarily supply these customers from the Coolabunia feeder while the necessary repairs to the network were carried out.
However, this resulted in an overload on that feeder and a loss of supply to customers from both feeders about 6:00pm.
Power was restored to 500 customers east of Kingaroy on the Coolabunia feeder within 20 minutes, while power was progressively reinstated on the Wooroolin feeder after the repairs were completed.
All customers had power back by 7:15pm.
