The Thundercats – who represent Wide Bay in the Queensland State Netball League – scheduled a training session in Kingaroy on Sunday to polish up their skills ahead of their first fixtures match for 2013.

There are two Kingaroy players in the team: local solicitor Libby Daniels and Year 12 Kingaroy State High School student Holly Ferling.

Holly only arrived back last Thursday after an impressive debut in India with the Australian women’s cricket team, but she wasn’t allowing any jetlag to get in the way of her netball training.

The girls practised their court moves in the Kingaroy State High School sports auditorium under the watchful eye of coach Kerianne Farrelly.

The team – which is full of new faces from 2012 – has played one trial match so far this season, dominating a Gympie team.
