Students from a number of local schools will be competing in the South Burnett Equestrian Challenge which will be held at the Kingaroy Showgrounds on Thursday (July 19).
The program of events, organised by St Mary’s Catholic College, will run across three rings and include led hacks and ridden hacks, rider events, barrel races, bending races, trail rides and a Working Stockman’s challenge.
Riders will be judged in age groups: 10 years and under, 10 years and under 13 years, 13 years and under 16 years, and 16 years and over.
From 3:00pm in the main arena, there’ll be an open freestyle workout where competitors will ride a three-minute routine to music of their own choice. Competitors can perform solo, as a pair or as a team.
