Ergon Energy is urging its customers to stay safe this Easter … especially if using generators while on camping trips.
“Generators have become more affordable for many people and they can make the traditional Easter camping trip that little bit more comfortable and convenient for mum and dad. But don’t let that comfort turn to tragedy,” Ergon General Manager Service Delivery Southern Paul Jordon said.
“Always strictly follow manufacturer’s instructions with generators, take extra care with leads and plug connections, keep water or moisture well away and never use generators in or near enclosed places of any kind – even near tents.”
He also warned parents that outdoor fun can bring the family into the vicinity of overhead powerlines.
“So be sure to keep children’s toys, kites and other things well clear,” he said.
