Joel Evans Memorial Weekend - Kingaroy
Today is Day 2 of the special Joel Evans Memorial Weekend being held in Kingaroy to mark the first anniversary of the tragic death of the champion local motocross rider. The South Burnett Junior MX Club has organised a weekend of activities which will be held at their track near Kingaroy Airport. A fun ride day is being held today for all levels of MX riders. Entries should be registered on the Ridernet website (free to join). No Motorcycling Australia (MA) licence is required but riders without one must pay $15 for insurance. Today will also feature the inaugural Viking Industrial Limbo Challenge and the Wooroolin Machinery Barrel Race for junior and senior competitors.
Taromeo Country Music Club Social - Blackbutt
- Join Taromeo Country Music Club musicians to farewell their mate Stoney at their regular social get-together from 10:30am to 2:30pm today at the Blackbutt Golf Club. Bunya Mountains Markets
The Bunya Mountains Markets, held on the last Sunday of every month, will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafés like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Café will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas. Walking trail maps will be available from both cafés, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a stroll through the adjoining National Park. More details? Sunday Bingo - Wondai
- The Wondai RSL Sub-Branch (ie. the former Diggers Club in Mackenzie Street) is running Sunday afternoon bingo! Doors open at noon with eyes down at 1:00pm.
Hivesville Country Markets
The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sportsground (in Edwards Lane, Hivesville) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month (except December) and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Devonshire Teas - Hivesville
- Hivesville QCWA will be opening the doors at their rooms in Main Street from 7:00am to noon this morning to offer visitors Devonshire Tea to coincide with today's Hivesville Country Markets. There'll also be preserves, plants and bric-a-brac for sale! Cash only.
Homemakers Swap - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Homemakers Swap will be held from 1:00pm this afternoon at Memorial Park in Kingaroy. Bring along five identical items that you have handmade, homegrown or homebaked and swap them for five different items made by other members. Wondai Community Share
- A Wondai Community Share will be held from 9:00am this morning at the Wondai Lions Pavilion at the Wondai Sportsground. Bring along any excess fruit, vegetables, baked goods or other household items you have to swap with others for things you need, or simply to give away. Everyone is welcome!
Harvest Share & Swap - Yarraman
- A free community produce swap is held every Sunday from 9:00am to 10:00am at The Pink Flamingo, 19 Toomey Street, Yarraman. This is an opportunity to share your unwanted produce, seeds or seedlings.

- The South Burnett Working Equitation Club will be holding a come and try day at the Nanango Showgrounds from 8:30am this morning followed by members training in the afternoon. - A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
