2026 Nanango ShowThe second (and main) day of the 117th Annual Nanango Show will get under way at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango at 7:00am this morning with Prime Cattle judging followed at 8:00am with Horse Events in the main ring and Stud Cattle judging from 8:30am. The main bar will open at noon. The sideshows and barrel racing in the main arena will all begin at 9:00am. The Grand Parade will be held at 12:45pm followed by the official opening at 1:00pm and the Stud Beef Parade and Supreme Exhibit judging at 1:45pm. The Bull Ride in the Len Bochmann Arena, will get jumping at 3:00pm. At 6:30pm, the finals of the day's trotting races will be run, and this will be followed by the Heritage Fireworks at 8:00pm, then live music by Mr Q from 8:30pm until late. Admission to today's show is $25 for adults or $15 for pensioners and high school students. Primary school children and younger - accompanied by a paying adult - are free. The first 1000 children and high schoolers (with ID) will receive four $4 sideshow alley subsidised tickets when accompanied by a paying adult or with paid entry. Everyone is welcome!
Kingaroy Speedway
The South Burnett Speedway will holding its "Autumn Decider" meeting tonight at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy. The meeting will feature the V8 Dirt Modified Queensland Title as well as the National 4s Queensland Title, Modlites, Formula 500s and Production Sedans. The canteen will be open and campsites are available in the Showgrounds if you want to stay over. Gates will open at 2:00pm and racing will start at 4:00pm. Admission is $30 for adults, $25 for students (with ID) and aged or disability pensioners; or $85 for a family of two adults and two students (children 12 and under are free). Everyone is welcome!
Pop-Up Market - Mondure
- A pop-up market will be held from 7:00am to noon this morning at the Mondure Hall in McConnell Way. There'll be homemade treats and crafts, new and secondhand stalls, plants, clothes, toys and homewares etc. For more info or to book a stall, phone Monica on 0427-265-206.
Rugby League - Cherbourg
Round 1 of the 2026 South Burnett Rugby League A Grade competition will kick off today at Jack O'Chin Oval in Cherbourg. At 1:00pm, the Blackbutt-Yarraman Timbertowners will make their return to senior league by taking on the Nanango Stags; followed at 2:30pm by the Kingaroy Red Ants v 2025 premiers Cherbourg Hornets; and at 4:00pm by the Murgon Mustangs v Wondai Wolves.
Ladies On The Lawn - Kingaroy
- The "Brooksy's Crew" Relay For Life team are hosting a fundraising lunch from noon today at 8 Noel Street, Kingaroy. Cost is $35 which includes a grazing lunch (pay on the day). BYO drinks. Raffle tickets will also be sold on the day (cash only).
The Little Mermaid Jnr - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society's Youth Theatre group is presenting a very limited run of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jnr at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre (KPAC, in the grounds of Kingaroy State High School, at the end of Markwell Street.) There are two performance today, at 11:00am and 4:00pm. Tickets are just $15 per person and can be booked online. (Group bookings are available for 15 or more people at a reduced rate.)
Go Getta Girls - Kingaroy

Senior Soccer - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club will be hosting a game from the Darling Downs Community competition at their grounds at Tom Alford Oval in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy, this evening. Kingaroy’s Division 1 team will take on Wests Wanderers at 5:00pm. Spectators are urged to come along and support the local team in action!
Bingo Buzz - Nanango
- Saturday morning bingo will be held today at the Nanango Cultural Centre, on the corner of Drayton and George Streets. Doors open at 10:00am with eyes down at 11:00am. Bring your friends for a fun day playing bingo!
Country Roadtrippin' - Kingaroy
A "road trip" through Australian country music will be hosted from 5:00pm to 9:00pm tonight at Hillview Cottages, 297 Birt Road, Kingaroy. On stage will be Toyota Star Maker finalist Caitlyn Jamieson, popular local country star Paul Ricketts, junior songwriter award winner Amy Ryan and Golden Guitar winner Lindsay Waddington. Dinner will be provided by camp oven cooks, The Baitlayers. Pre-booking is a must as there is only a limited number of tickets available. Tickets are $75 per person and can be booked online.
Yarraman Men's Shed

Kingaroy Friendship Markets
- The monthly Kingaroy Friendship Markets will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around noon today. The markets, which are held on the third Saturday of every month, feature a range of arts, crafts, food stalls, fruit and garden stalls, plus unusual bric-a-brac. New stallholders are always very welcome.
