Public Meeting - Proston
A public meeting to discuss the possible future extension of the South Burnett Rail Trail from Murgon to Proston will be held at the Proston Community Hall in Rodney Street at 6:30pm tonight. A necessary first step in any trail extension along the former Murgon-Proston railway route would be to conduct a feasibility study into the project, and the South Burnett Regional Council is eligible for 100% State Government funding for this if it chooses to take up the option. Tonight's meeting will hear speakers from the South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association, the Coverty Creek Community Development Association and residents from Proston, Hivesville and Murgon who have an interest in this project. There'll also be a sausage sizzle run by the Proston Men's Shed and tea, coffee and cakes supplied by Proston QCWA available for purchase. Everyone is welcome!
